Welcome to my corner of the web! I’m Timothy Willan, and I’ve spent over four decades in the flooring industry. As the proud owner of Floor Repairs, I’ve dedicated my career to perfecting the art of flooring, specialising in hardwood, laminate, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) repairs. At 70 years young, my passion for this craft remains as strong as ever.

Over the years, I’ve been privileged to transform countless residential and commercial spaces through my expertise. These experiences have taught me the value of dedication, precision, and a deep understanding of my clients’ needs. Flooring isn’t just about laying down materialโ€”it’s about creating something lasting and reliable.

My journey in flooring has been complemented by a desire to explore new horizons, especially as I consider retirement. In 2024, I joined Wealthy Affiliate and took a serious step into online entrepreneurship in 2025. The digital world offers a fresh slate, an exciting challenge that I am eager to embrace as I shift gears from hands-on work to fostering an online presence, honing my niche expertise into something scalable.

As I move forward, I see endless possibilities in blending my longstanding craftsmanship with cutting-edge online opportunities. This isn’t merely an endโ€”it’s an evolution. By using my experience to solve flooring issues effectively, I hope to continue impacting lives in new ways. This brings me to the mission driving Floor Repairs: Experience and Expertise. So, let me tell you more about what makes my approach unique.

The Mission of Floor Repairs: Experience & Expertise

At Floor Repairs, my mission stems from a single, unwavering commitment: to deliver flooring solutions made possible by experience and expertise. With my in-depth knowledge of hardwood, laminate, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP), I focus on repairs rather than replacements, saving both materials and memories.

Throughout my career, I’ve encountered a significant challenge: manufacturers discontinuing flooring materials just a few years after production. This trend often forces consumers into replacement when a simple repair could suffice. Despite these hurdles, I pride myself on developing innovative solutions that make repairs feasible, even in demanding circumstances.

This journey has allowed me to build trusted relationships with clients, sharing in their satisfaction as we restore their floors to their former glory. Specialising in residential and commercial repairs, I have focused exclusively on these domains, intentionally excluding tile work, which never piqued my interest.

Specialising

As I continue to tackle hands-on tasks, I’m excited to share the wealth of knowledge I’ve acquired with a broader audience online. This will be a key part of my future plans, as I pivot to leveraging my expertise beyond direct client engagements. Reflecting on what comes next, life, growth, and future plans are at the heart of my journey forward.

Beyond Flooring: Life, Growth & Future Plans

Embarking on the path to integrating my flooring expertise with digital entrepreneurship, I am drawn to the possibilities beyond my career’s conventional scope. Looking forward to retirement, I’m eager to explore new opportunities online, and I plan to move forward on this platform with WA.

Joining Wealthy Affiliate in 2024 opened up a new chapter in my professional story. By becoming a paid member in 2025, I’ve committed to equipping myself with the tools necessary for a successful transition to online ventures. This marks another exciting evolution in my journey, as I step into roles beyond the hands-on craftsmanship of flooring work.

There’s a vibrant world awaiting me online, where I envision blending my practical knowledge with digital strategies to foster community, provide guidance, and continue solving flooring challenges, albeit virtually. This new frontier is where I hope to find a sustainable and fulfilling retirement.

In my quest for growth, I also indulge in hobbies that broaden my perspective. Outside of flooring, I thrive on activities that keep me engaged and adaptive, nurturing the curiosity that drives my move into digital spaces. With an eye on the future with WA, I’m open to connecting with those who share my passions and aspirations.

This brings me to my life as a musician. For 50 years, I’ve played the drums and explored various musical genres. Music has been a steadfast companion throughout my life, complementing my mechanical creativity with rhythmic exploration and adding another facet to my identity. As I embrace these diversities, I look forward to weaving them into the tapestry of my continued journey.

Musician: A Rhythm of Life

In addition to my flooring expertise, music has been a defining rhythm in my life. For over 50 years, I’ve played the drums, immersing myself in diverse musical landscapes that have enriched my personal and professional worlds. This passion for music mirrors my dedication to perfection, echoing the precision I bring to floor repairs.

Playing the drums has allowed me to stay connected to the vibrant beat of life, providing a creative outlet that complements the technical demands of my trade. Exploring varied musical genres has opened my mind to innovative ways of thinking, a trait I bring to every flooring challenge.

Music is my bridge between past experiences and future aspirations, guiding me through the transitions in my personal and professional life. Like flooring, each beat and rhythm I create tells a story, offering a new perspective while fostering a sense of continuity.

As I move forward, my flooring expertise and musical pursuits will continue to drive my growth and exploration. I invite you to join me on this journey, whether through a shared passion for flooring solutions or a mutual appreciation for the art of percussion. There’s much more to discover, and I’m excited to see where this path leads next.

Timothy, your story is incredibly inspiring! Itโ€™s not every day you come across someone whoโ€™s dedicated over 40 years to a craft and is now  stepping into the digital space with such passion and purpose. The blend of hands-on expertise with a forward-thinking mindset is a good combination. Your commitment to repairs over replacements, especially in a world so quick to discard, is a breath of fresh air. And the fact that music has been your lifelong companion just adds another layer of depth to your creativity and resilience. Wishing you every success as you continue to share your flooring knowledge and life experiences through Wealthy Affiliate and beyond.

Having worked alongside tradesmen in residential renovations, I can truly appreciate the value of your approach – focusing on repairs instead of costly replacements. It’s rare to see someone with such deep expertise willing to adapt and bring that knowledge into a digital space. The challenge of working with discontinued flooring materials is all too familiar, and it takes both technical skill and creative thinking to make repairs seamless. Your blend of craftsmanship and commitment to sustainability through repair rather than replacement really stands out. It’s refreshing to see such seasoned experience being shared in a way that others can learn from and benefit.
